This one could apply to both Mulder and Scully. Lying awake in the night, Mulder and insomniac and Scully worried, call each other, wondering if the other is all right. The night goes slow but during that time, they can dream of being together. Before they were partnered, they had been on their own and they were self sufficient, proud of it. But after, they can’t imagine not being with the other. The sexual tension has been building, always wanting to tell the other but afraid. Yes, Mulder has admitted it, but Scully can’t accept it, so their love is still unknown. How can they get past their need to hide with in themselves and be together, alone as one?
